Quad Style: Everett Black
I’m Everett Black. I am a third year Visual Arts major with an Architectural Studies minor. I’m a pretty usual useless art kid, my hobbies are like drawing and anime. I also like to cook but I hardly do it.
I am wearing Blue and white pinstripe overalls and an old dirty white sweatshirt. Paired with my KILLKILLKILL choker that I made.
How would you describe your personal style?
I try to look futuristic but also like I could just go hiking whenever. I don’t have too much to spend so all my pieces are thrifted or from eBay besides a few random gifts that are weirdly nice. Sometimes you can tell that I used to be a preppy kid. I also try to look American, but in a positive way, like I don’t understand trying to look like you’re not from where you’re from.
Where do you find style inspiration?
A crust punk but who wears RAF, an ex-priest, Farm and Fleet, Steve-o from Jackass.
I am wearing a Levis jackets that feels like plastic over a hoodie that reads “STEAM” (the type of water not the gamer thing). I have a bootleg Chanel earring in and a bright orange “Ben Davis” beanie on.
Where do you like to shop?
Mostly everything I own is thrifted, gifts, or from Farm Fleet. I will spend real money on shoes, I love Nike too so that’s where most of my budget goes.
Do you have any fashion regrets?
I always wore black skinny jeans but my go-to used to be blue suede bucks and a button-up under a knit sweater. It looked fine but I just don’t know who I was trying to be. I think I also have had a lot of random, flamboyant fits that really didn’t work, but honestly they made me grow.
I am wearing a camo long-sleeve under a beige tee. Neither of these have discernible brands but the camo shirt has bright orange text on the back that reads “Real men kill shit and hang out at Ron’s” and that’s why I always layer it. I also have this novelty cigarette earring in that my friends got me for my birthday. These are just black jeans. I got my Nike SFB Gen 2’s on but I replaced the laces with these yellow and brown ones.
What is your relationship to fashion? Has it changed over time?
I never even googled fashion until a couple years ago. I switch my beanie like once every four months.
Why is fashion important to you?
Because the villain always dressed cooler in Star Wars.
